Wellness Program

Wellness Program

In an effort to support healthy lifestyles of our Associates and create engaging opportunities to try new services, products and vendors, MWA may, on occasion, introduce wellness activities and incentives for participation. All activities are considered voluntary and may vary by location based on availability of services, interest and feasibility of cost and administration.

Our wellness program is administered according to the federal rules permitting employer-sponsored wellness programs that seek to improve health or prevent disease. As required by law, MWA will maintain the privacy and security of any protected health information collected through the Mariner Wealth Advisors, LLC Health Care Plan or its wellness program. Although we may use aggregate information it collects to design a program based on identified health risks in the workplace, we will never disclose any of your personal information either publicly or to unauthorized individuals, except as necessary to respond to a request from you for a reasonable accommodation needed to participate in the wellness program or as expressly authorized by you such as in the event of a fitness challenge where resulting winners and fitness goals are typically recognized for achievement.

Protected health information may be provided to certain authorized individuals to the extent necessary for the administration of MWA’s wellness program, including members of the Human Resources Team, designated local representatives of MWA offices, or third-party service vendors and their staff, including, but not limited to, registered nurses, physicians or health coaches. Authorized individuals do not include an Associate’s Manager and health information collected as part of MWA’s wellness program will never be used to make decisions regarding employment. Authorized individuals will maintain the confidentiality of Associates’ protected health information under penalty of discipline, up to and including termination of employment.

Should you choose to participate in MWA’s wellness program, you do so on a voluntary basis and must follow administrative procedures outlined in order to be eligible for participation or incentives, including events where you may be required to share in the cost of such event. All Associates acknowledge that MWA is not responsible for any outcome or personal expectation of participation, including improved health or level of fitness, or loss or injury sustained.  You are expected to seek the advice of a qualified physician as to your ability to participate in any wellness program activity and communicate with a member of Human Resources if you believe a reasonable accommodation is necessary for participation.  Reasonable accommodations are subject to the Disability policy in this Handbook.  Associates requesting reasonable accommodations must complete the written Request for Accommodation form.
